Britta Virves Trio

Britta Virves is an award-winning pianist and composer from Saaremaa, Estonia. She is now based in Stockholm, Sweden, where she has collaborated with many of Sweden’s finest jazz musicians. Heartcore Records is excited to present her debut album Juniper, a deeply autobiographical work. Her compositions are narratively clear and harmonically modern meditations on the wonder of nature, ecological webs of interconnectedness, and the people and places she calls home.  Juniper was nominated for the Best Jazz Album at the Swedish Grammys and chosen as TOP 10 Best Albums of 2022 in Dagens Nyheter, the largest and most influential newspaper in Sweden. It was also nominated for Jazz Album of the Year at the Estonian Music Awards 2023.

With Britta Virves on piano, Jon Henriksson on bass  and Jonas Bäckman on drums

“When I hear Britta play, I hear a connected soul who’s able to communicate through the touch and sound of the piano. Her trio is in sync with this sensitivity and together, they create a highly dynamic and satisfying listening experience” – Kurt Rosenwinkel
